V is for Volcano

Mt Fuji was one of my favourite scenes from Japan. Anywhere we went we were on the lookout for this snow capped mountain. It didn't matter from what angle, this mountain never stopped being amazing when you were looking at it.

Mt Fuji seen from Miho Beach,

Mt Fuji seen from Shimizu Port. Unfortunately not the clearest day, but this is usually a great viewing spot.

Mt Fuji seen from Izu Peninsula

My Fuji seen from the balcony of a friend's apartment in Tokyo. Lucky man!

The Farm Shed

I visited the Farm Shed back in 2012. It is the Copper Coast Visitor Centre as well as a museum dedicated to displaying farming equipment, military memorabilia, mining equipment and transport. Entry was $8 per adult and the collection was very large. I have to say, while I was impressed, it wasn't necessarily 'my thing' but definitely found some things rather interesting.

Entering the old miner's cottage was like taking a step back in time with rooms set up as they would have been. I think this place would be great if you were visiting on the weekend to enjoy the miniature train park too. These are little trains that you are able to sit on and it takes you around a track, part of which runs through the area of The Farm Shed.

This is a bit of a step up from the 'vehicle' they used in 1898.

We walked from our place to Port Adelaide on the weekend for the Fork in the Road festival. I took some photos along the way.

Looking Back at Japan: Kunozan Toshogu Shrine & Sumpu Dream Square

I have the mammoth task of sorting my hard drive of 10+ years of photos. The benefit of that is that I am finding photos I never knew I had and reliving all my favourite moments of Japan from 2006/2007.

Kunozan Toshogu Shrine and Sumpu Dream Square are found in Nihondaira, Shizuoka Prefecture. I was fortunate enough to have a beautiful Japanese friend Ai who would organise trips for us and this was one of the places we visited for the day. You can read about the shrine here.
